The Venue & Parking
The venue is Camnant Hall, our family home and renovation project.
Parking will be in the field beside our house, There will be balloons and a sign on the correct A475 entrance (alternatively you can follow this link for a precise location) and there will be plenty of signs to direct you to the right parking area once you enter the driveway.
If you are planning on staying in Wales overnight please arrange your own overnight accommodation ahead of time as we are not offering any camping or accommodation.
Dresscode:
Romantic Country Folk
We picked this dresscode as it goes with the venue (an old stone farmhouse), the Ceilidh Dance and we have a shared passion for straw hats, tweed & neckerchiefs but if you aren't into dressing up or don't understand the theme, read on...
Men:
A linen suit or a long sleeved shirt and chinos combo is absolutely fine. Please don't wear flip flops or jeans.
Ladies:
A modest summer dress with a loose fitting midi or maxi skirt is absolutely fine.
The ceremony is all on grass so don't wear high heels and there will be a ceilidh dance so don't wear flip flops or pencil skirts.
Colours:
Please don't wear black, and ladies please refrain from wearing a predominantly white or cream dress.
Please bring:
-
A picnic blanket to sit on at the ceremony (Seating will be on wooden benches or straw bales, so this just makes it more comfortable for you)
-
An umbrella (the wedding ceremony will be outside)
Please note: No dogs
The Schedule

Cutting of the Cake 16:15
First Dance 16:30
1st Half Ceilidh Dancing with Allan yn Y Fan 16:45 - 17:45
A Ceilidh (or Twmpath) is a traditional Scottish/ Irish/ Welsh folk dance, we are having this instead of a disco. Don't worry if you've never done it before, it's brilliant fun and everyone will be given easy to follow instructions by a professional Ceilidh caller. We have booked the local band Allan yn Y Fan, you can see them in action here.
It's quite active so please make sure you are wearing flat shoes that you can dance in (not flip flops) and wide skirts if you are a lady (pencil skirts just don't work at a Ceilidh!)
Pizza Oven Opens 17:45 While the band and the dancers have an interlude we'll fire up our Pizza oven for any hungry guests.
2nd Half Ceilidh Dancing 18:30 - 19:30
Pizza Oven Closes 19:45
Loud Music Ends 20:00
We are hoping to have a mellow end to the evening, with some quiet music and lawn games, a small bonfire and some marshmallow toasting. Because the venue is our home and we are in a close knit village unused to lots of people and noise we wish to be as considerate to our neighbours (and their animals/ livestock) as possible.
